NTT honoured as a top employer in Singapore
The Cloud Communications division of NTT Ltd. has been recognized as one of the “Best Companies to Work for in Singapore” by HR Asia Magazine.
Singapore – 5 January 2021- The Cloud Communications Division of NTT Ltd. has been recognized as one of the “Best Companies to Work for in Singapore” by HR Asia Magazine, a leading Asian publication for senior HR professionals.
The annual award given by HR Asia assesses workforce engagement and workplace cultures based on employee surveys. Since 2013, the surveys – which are modeled after HR Asia’s Total Engagement Assessment Model (or TEAM) – have been deployed to over two million respondents across all major Asian markets.
They include China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Largely, TEAM covers three main criteria:
- Core - covers culture and ethics, leadership and organization, and active initiatives
- Self - looks at emotional engagement, intention and motivation, and behaviour and advocacy
- Group - focuses on collective consciousness, team dynamics and sentiments at the workplace.
NTT’s win this year was attributed to its forward-looking human resources strategies, which include encouraging flexible working arrangements and having clear and open communication policies across the organization.
Based on survey feedback, employees also indicated that they were confident about the value of their contribution and that they respected the expertise of other employees.
Sean Kwek, Managing Director Asia Pacific, Cloud Communications, NTT Ltd. said: “We believe that our people are our greatest asset. This is why we offer development initiatives that cover life-long learning, as well as mental and emotional wellness.
“Beyond that, we believe that our core values of ‘speed’, ‘execute’ and ‘together’ set the standards that guide our employment strategy and governance. To have won the award for being a top employer in Singapore is a strong validation of our efforts.”
Kangan Arora, Director Human Resources Asia Pacific, Cloud Communications, NTT Ltd. added: “With over 20 nationalities represented in the APAC division, diversity and equal opportunities are important to us.
“In addition, we have been practicing conscientious recruitment and retention strategies over the past three years to ensure a 50-50 gender mix in both our overall APAC workforce and leadership composition.”
